Genus guide
Agastache — 17 species
Agastache is a genus of aromatic perennials in the mint family, ranging from the anise-scented Agastache foeniculum to the warm, spicy Hummingbird Mint cultivars beloved by pollinators. They thrive in full sun with lean, well-draining soil and are notably drought-tolerant once established, needing only moderate watering. Pet toxicity varies across the genus: Anise Hyssop (A. foeniculum) is regarded as non-toxic, while some other species may cause mild digestive upset in dogs. Check each species before buying if you share your space with pets.
