What Growli costs
This is our own app, so the Growli prices here are first-party, taken from App Store Connect. The competitor prices further down are from each app's own App Store listing: US read on 22 October 2026, UK on 29 July 2026.

Growli Plus, by plan
| Plan | UK | US | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Weekly | £1.99 | $1.99 | No trial. Useful for one urgent problem. |
| Monthly | £6.99 | $8.99 | No trial. Cancel any time. |
| Yearly | £34.99 | $44.99 | Opens with a 7-day free trial. |
At the App Store paywall and on your receipt this subscription appears as "Gardenpack Plus". It is the same Growli Plus plan at the same prices; the store lists the subscription under that name.
The App Store sets prices per country, so yours may differ outside the UK and US. Billing is handled by Apple or Google, and cancelling is done in your store account rather than inside Growli.
How Growli Plus compares on price
We are not the cheapest, and it would be strange to pretend otherwise. PictureThis Pro is £34.99 a year in the UK, the same as Growli Plus, and $39.99 in the US, five dollars less than us. Planta Premium is $35.99 in the US and £32.99 in the UK. Greg identifies plants for free and charges $29.99 a year for its watering features. PlantNet is free. If price is the deciding factor, those are honest options and our comparison pages will say so.
| App | US, yearly | UK, yearly | From its listing |
|---|---|---|---|
| Growli Plus | $44.99 | £34.99 | 7-day free trial on the yearly plan |
| PictureThis Pro | $39.99 | £34.99 | "Unlimited plant IDs, care tips, and diagnoses" |
| Planta Premium | $35.99 | £32.99 | 12-month tier |
| Greg (SUPER Greg) | $29.99 | No yearly price labelled | 7-day trial; plant scan identification is free |
| PlantNet | Free | Free | No in-app purchases listed |
US prices from each app's US App Store listing, 22 October 2026; UK prices from the GB listings, 29 July 2026. Greg's GB listing shows its prices without durations, so no UK yearly figure is given for it.
What you pay Growli for is photo identification, photo diagnosis with a treatment plan, and an unlimited chat that remembers every plant you own, on top of the free weather-timed care tasks and frost warnings. PictureThis and Planta both say on their listings that they diagnose from a photo too, so read the six-app comparison before you pick one.
Growli pricing — FAQ
Is Growli free?
Growli is free to download on iOS and Android. The free tier covers your garden plan, care tasks timed to your local weather, frost warnings and the step-by-step growing guides, with no time limit. Photo plant identification, photo diagnosis with a treatment plan and unlimited garden chat are part of Growli Plus.
How much does Growli Plus cost?
Growli Plus is £34.99 a year in the UK or $44.99 a year in the US, and the yearly plan opens with a 7-day free trial. Monthly is £6.99 or $8.99, and weekly is £1.99 or $1.99. Prices are set per country by the App Store, so yours may differ if you are outside the UK or US.
Is there a free trial?
Yes — 7 days, on the yearly plan. The monthly and weekly plans do not include a trial. If you cancel during the trial you are not charged.
What happens when the trial ends?
The yearly plan begins and your card is charged unless you cancel first. You can cancel any time from your Apple ID or Google Play subscription settings, and you keep Plus until the period you have paid for runs out.
Is Growli cheaper than PictureThis or Planta?
No. Growli Plus at £34.99 a year is level with PictureThis Pro in the UK, and at $44.99 it is five dollars more than PictureThis Pro in the US. Planta Premium is $35.99 a year in the US and £32.99 in the UK. We are not the cheapest plant app. What you pay Growli for is photo identification, photo diagnosis with a treatment plan and an unlimited chat that remembers every plant you own, on top of the free weather-timed care tasks and frost warnings.
Do I need Plus to use Growli at all?
No. The garden plan, care tasks, frost warnings and growing guides work without paying, and the free tier is not a trial. Plus is worth it if you photograph plants to identify them or want a diagnosis from a picture rather than from a description.
Can I cancel?
Yes, any time, from your Apple ID or Google Play subscription settings — not from inside Growli, because the stores handle billing. Cancelling stops the next renewal; it does not refund the current period.
Start free. Add Plus if you want the camera.
The garden plan, care tasks and frost warnings cost nothing and are not a trial. Photo ID and diagnosis come with Plus, free for 7 days on the yearly plan.
