Terms of service

The short version:we provide a gardening assistant. You use it at your own discretion. Growli's advice is informational, not a substitute for a professional horticulturist or veterinarian. Don't use Growli for anything illegal or harmful. You can cancel anytime.

The details, in plain English:

1. Who these terms apply to

These terms govern your use of the Growli mobile app, getgrowli.app website, and any related services (collectively, "Growli"). By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these terms.

Growli is operated by YNMO LTD, registered in the United Kingdom (Companies House #13293288).

2. Eligibility

You must be 13 or older to use Growli. If you're under 18, you confirm that a parent or guardian has reviewed and accepted these terms on your behalf.

3. Your account

• You're responsible for the security of your account credentials.
• You may not share your account with others. Each person needs their own account.
• You can delete your account at any time from in-app settings.
• We may suspend or terminate accounts for serious violations of these terms (see Section 6).

4. What Growli does and doesn't do

Growli provides general gardening information, plant identification, symptom diagnostics, and personalized care recommendations. The assistant is built on third-party AI models and our own training data.

Growli is informational, not professional advice. Specifically:

• Growli is not a substitute for a licensed horticulturist, agronomist, or commercial gardening consultant.
• Growli is not a substitute for a veterinarian. If a pet has eaten a plant, contact a vet or poison control immediately.
• Growli is not a substitute for medical advice if a plant has caused a skin reaction or other health issue.
• Plant identification and diagnoses are best-effort, not guaranteed accurate.

For high-stakes situations (rare plants, commercial gardens, suspected poisoning), seek professional advice in addition to Growli.

5. Your content

Photos you upload and content you share with Growli (your "User Content") remain yours. By using the service, you grant YNMO LTD a worldwide, non-exclusive licence to process your User Content for the purpose of providing the service to you.

We don't claim ownership of your User Content. We don't use it for advertising, and we don't share it with third parties except as described in our privacy policy.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use Growli for any illegal purpose (e.g. identification of controlled substances).
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or extract data from the service at scale.
• Impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity.
• Upload content that infringes someone else's intellectual property.
• Use Growli to harass, threaten, or harm others.
• Use the service in any way that could damage, disable, or impair it.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules. For serious violations (illegal activity, repeated abuse), we may also report to relevant authorities.

7. Subscriptions and billing

Growli offers a free tier and may offer paid subscription tiers. Pricing and features are displayed in-app.

• Subscriptions are billed through Apple, Google, or our direct payment processor (Stripe).
• Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled before the renewal date.
• You can cancel anytime in your app store account settings or our billing portal.
• Refunds are handled per the policies of the payment platform you used (Apple, Google, or direct billing).

8. Service availability

We aim for high availability but don't guarantee uninterrupted service. The service may be unavailable for maintenance, due to technical issues, or for reasons outside our control. Some features require internet connectivity; offline features depend on your device's storage.

9. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The service is provided "as is". Without limiting the preceding sentence:

• We don't guarantee that plant identifications, diagnoses, or care recommendations are accurate or complete.
• We don't guarantee that following Growli's advice will produce a healthy plant or successful harvest.
• We're not responsible for crop loss, plant death, financial loss, or other damages resulting from your use of the service.
• To the maximum extent permitted by law, YNMO LTD's aggregate liability to you is limited to the amount you've paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim (or £100 if you're a free user).

Nothing in these terms limits liability for death, personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.

10. Changes to the service or terms

We may update the service, add features, remove features, or modify these terms. Material changes will be communicated by email or in-app notification before they take effect. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, except where you have mandatory consumer rights to bring proceedings in your country of residence.
