How to prune celeriac 'prinz'

Remove side shoots and lower leaves from midsummer onward as the bulb swells. Snap off suckers growing at the base of the main stem by hand or cut with scissors. Remove the lowest 2–4 leaves that are yellowing or touching soil every few weeks from July onward, leaving the upper canopy intact to fuel bulb development.

Monthly from midsummer until harvest; remove damaged leaves as needed. Celeriac 'Prinz' benefits from one specific pruning task: snap off side shoots (suckers) and lower leaves that touch or shade the swelling root during summer.
