What's eating my nandina liriope?

Liriope muscari 'Big Blue' grown as a houseplant is most troubled by spider mites in warm, dry indoor conditions, which cause speckled, dull foliage. Scale insects attach to leaf bases and stems. Mealybugs hide in the dense leaf rosettes. Outdoors it also faces slugs, but indoors mites are the primary concern and the most commonly reported threat.
