America is a large-flowered climber bred by Warriner and introduced in 1976, the year of the US bicentennial and an All-America Rose Selections winner. It carries shapely, coral-salmon hybrid-tea-form blooms with a strong, spicy clove fragrance, repeat-flowering through summer on an upright, moderately vigorous frame suited to pillars and trellis.

Mature size: Roughly 2.4-3.5 m (8-12 ft) tall and 1.5-2 m (5-7 ft) wide when supported.

Watch for — Black spot: Circular black leaf spots with yellow margins in humid weather; clear fallen foliage and keep leaves dry by watering at the roots.
