How to prune lonicera periclymenum 'serotina'

Immediately after flowering (August–September); light structural tidy in late winter. Once blooms fade, cut flowered stems back by one-third to a healthy bud or lateral shoot. In late winter, remove one or two of the oldest, most congested stems entirely at their base.

Twice yearly — post-flowering and late winter. Lonicera periclymenum 'Serotina' (late Dutch honeysuckle) blooms later in summer on the current season's side shoots. Prune right after flowering — typically August–September — to remove spent wood and encourage next year's flowering laterals. A late-winter structural tidy completes the annual routine.
