How to prune lithops optica 'rubra'

Late spring to early summer, once old leaves are fully desiccated. Allow old leaves to shrivel completely, then gently peel away the dry husk. Never cut or force-remove leaves that still contain any firmness or moisture.

Once per year. Lithops optica 'Rubra' requires no pruning. Like all Lithops, it replaces its leaf pair once a year, and the old leaves must be left to dry out completely so the plant can reabsorb their stored moisture and nutrients. Only remove the papery husks when they are bone-dry and detach easily.
