Throughout the growing season once the plant has 4–5 true leaves. Train to a single main stem; remove all laterals from the lowest 4 nodes entirely. Above that, allow fruiting laterals and pinch them 2 leaves beyond each fruit. Stop the main stem at the top of the support.

Weekly during active growth. Burpless cucumbers are typically trained on a single stem and need regular side-shoot management. Pinch out suckers from the lower nodes, stop the main stem at support height, and remove tired or yellowing leaves promptly. This keeps airflow high and reduces bitter flavors linked to stress and poor ventilation.
