How to prune beetroot 'boldor'

Thin seedlings 3–4 weeks after germination; harvest greens when young. Thin clusters to one plant per 3–4 inches by snipping unwanted seedlings at soil level with scissors — pulling risks disturbing neighbours' roots. If harvesting greens, take only the outermost young leaves; never strip the plant.

Thinning: once after germination. Greens: sparingly as needed. Beetroot 'Boldor' does not require pruning. The leaves (beet greens) are edible and can be harvested sparingly — remove no more than one or two young outer leaves per plant without stunting root development. Thinning seedlings at the soil line is more important than pruning for this root vegetable.
