What's eating my tillandsia tectorum?

Tillandsia tectorum's dense, fuzzy trichome coat makes it more resistant to pests than most air plants — trichomes impede pest movement and feeding. Mealybugs are still the main risk, occasionally hiding at the leaf base. Scale and spider mites are uncommon but possible in dry conditions. Avoid excess moisture which can damage trichomes.
