What's eating my thai aubergine?

Thai aubergine attracts the same key pests as other aubergines — flea beetles outdoors and whitefly under glass are the headline threats. Its compact bushy form can also harbour dense aphid colonies on new growth. Spider mites flare in heat. Regular scouting and early biological control deployment are most effective.

Scattered shot-holes across leaves; severe on seedlings; less damaging once plants are large and established. Grow under fine mesh netting; delay transplanting until plants are stocky; use pyrethrin as a contact spray if needed.

Clouds of tiny white insects; honeydew and sooty mould on foliage and fruits. Introduce Encarsia formosa early; keep greenhouse well ventilated; sticky yellow traps to monitor adult numbers.

Dense green colonies on shoot tips; leaf curl, honeydew, and potential virus spread. Spray off with water; release Aphidius colemani under glass; use insecticidal soap for outdoor infestations.
