What's eating my spear-leaved arrowhead vine?

Spear-Leaved Arrowhead Vine (Syngonium hastifolium) is an indoor tropical whose arrow-shaped leaves are susceptible to the same pests that affect all Syngoniums. Spider mites are the primary indoor threat. Mealybugs can shelter in the distinctive spear-lobed leaf bases. Inspect every watering and maintain good humidity.

Dull, stippled foliage with fine webs on leaf undersides; damage worsens in low humidity or near heating sources Mist the plant or use a humidifier. Spray all surfaces including undersides with neem oil or insecticidal soap weekly for 3–4 weeks.

Fluffy white deposits in basal lobes and stem axils; weakened plant with sticky, mould-prone leaves Remove manually with an alcohol swab, then treat the whole plant with neem oil spray every 7–10 days until clear.

Small soft insects on new leaf growth; curled or puckered leaves and honeydew residue Rinse off under lukewarm water and follow with insecticidal soap spray; repeat weekly until no new insects are observed.
