What's eating my sansevieria trifasciata golden hahnii?

Golden Hahnii is a compact bird's-nest snake plant and shares the typical Dracaena trifasciata pest profile. The tight rosette is a prime hiding spot for mealybugs. Spider mites attack in dry air, and fungus gnats can breed in waterlogged soil. Its thick succulent leaves give it natural resistance, so outbreaks are usually manageable.

White fluffy masses deep in the rosette centre; leaves yellow, growth stalls and honeydew creates a sticky mess. Pry leaves apart gently and treat each bug with an alcohol-soaked cotton swab. Spray the whole plant with diluted neem oil weekly for a month.

Pale dusty stippling on leaf faces and very fine webbing around the base of the rosette in dry environments. Wipe leaves with a damp cloth to remove mites and eggs. Apply insecticidal soap or neem oil spray and repeat weekly until clear.

Tiny flies around the soil; larvae feed on fine roots, causing the plant to look weak or fail to thrive. Let the potting mix dry out between waterings and use yellow sticky traps. Apply a Bti drench to the soil to kill larvae.
