What's eating my sansevieria fischeri?

Sansevieria Fischeri is a tough East African species whose stiff, narrow leaves discourage most pests. Mealybugs are the most likely indoor attacker, settling at leaf bases. Spider mites can appear under very dry heating in winter. Root rot from overwatering is far more common than any pest problem with this species.
