What's eating my passiflora 'incense'?

Passiflora 'Incense' is a vigorous flowering vine grown outdoors or in conservatories, where it faces a wider range of pests. Aphids and spider mites attack soft growth tips, while caterpillars (particularly gulf fritillary larvae in warmer US regions) can strip foliage rapidly. Whitefly is a common conservatory problem. Deer and rabbits will browse accessible vines.

Dense colonies on tender growing tips and flower buds; curled, sticky leaves and distorted new growth. Blast off with a strong hose jet; apply insecticidal soap or neem oil spray every 5–7 days, or introduce ladybirds outdoors.
