What's eating my parker's jasmine?

Parker's jasmine (Jasminum parkeri) is a compact, hardy dwarf shrub that is notably resistant to serious pest attack. Aphids may occasionally colonise new shoot tips, and scale insects can appear on congested stems. Overall pest pressure is low; the plant rarely needs intervention and deer show no interest in it.
