What's eating my nutmeg geranium?

Nutmeg Geranium (Pelargonium x fragrans) is vulnerable to vine weevil root damage in pots, spider mites indoors, and aphids on tender new shoots. As a compact cultivated Pelargonium it shares the family's pest profile. Its spicy fragrance provides limited deterrence; root pests and sap-suckers remain the top concerns.

Root-eating grubs cause wilting and sudden death; adults make characteristic U-shaped notches in leaf margins Treat compost with nematodes in early autumn when soil is still warm. Report plants in spring and remove any grubs found. Drench containers thoroughly.

Pale, stippled upper leaf surface; webbing on undersides; foliage looks dull and bronzed in severe cases Keep humidity above 50%. Wipe leaves with a damp cloth. Spray undersides with neem oil or insecticidal soap; repeat every 5–7 days for three cycles.
