What's eating my noble fir?

Noble Fir grown in gardens or plantations is most threatened by bark beetles and the balsam woolly adelgid, especially in Oregon and Washington where it is native. Deer browse young trees heavily. Cinara aphids colonize stems. Drought stress dramatically increases bark beetle susceptibility, so irrigation during dry spells is important.
