What's eating my maxillaria schunkeana?

Maxillaria schunkeana, a miniature Brazilian orchid, is most commonly troubled by spider mites in low-humidity indoor conditions. Mealybugs can infest root zones and pseudobulb bases, and scale insects occasionally settle on its stems. Fungus gnats become problematic in overly wet bark mixes. Good airflow and moderate humidity are key defences.

Fine silvery stippling and webbing on leaf surfaces; leaves may yellow or dry out at tips Increase humidity and spray with insecticidal soap or diluted neem oil, covering leaf undersides thoroughly; repeat every five to seven days.
