Episcia cupreata 'Silver Sheen' is a trailing indoor tropical requiring high humidity — that same warmth and moisture attract mealybugs and, if humidity drops, spider mites. Mealybugs are the most common and damaging pest, hiding in the leaf axils and along stolons. Thrips can damage the distinctive silver-patterned leaves. Regular inspection catches problems early.

White cottony deposits in leaf axils and along stolons; stunted growth, sticky honeydew, and yellowing leaves. Remove with an alcohol-dipped cotton swab; spray with insecticidal soap or neem oil, repeating every 10–14 days.
