What's eating my dracaena goldieana?

Dracaena Goldieana is a rare, humidity-loving tropical houseplant most troubled by spider mites when air is too dry. Mealybugs exploit the patterned leaf axils, and scale can appear on stems. Thrips occasionally damage the distinctive banded foliage. Inspect new growth carefully and keep humidity elevated.

Tiny yellow stipples across the banded leaves and fine webbing on undersides; foliage dulls and may drop. Boost humidity, wipe leaves with a damp cloth regularly, and apply insecticidal soap or neem oil spray. Repeat every 5–7 days until clear.

Cottony white deposits in leaf axils; sticky honeydew attracts sooty mold and the plant weakens. Remove bugs manually with an alcohol-dipped cotton swab. Follow up with neem oil or insecticidal soap spray on all surfaces.

Small brown bumps on stems and leaf undersides; sap-feeding causes yellowing and slow decline. Scrape off with a soft toothbrush, wipe with neem oil, and follow with a horticultural oil spray. Re-inspect after 14 days.
