What's eating my dendrobium 'emma white'?

Dendrobium 'Emma White', a hybrid orchid cultivar grown indoors, faces the same core pest threats as other Dendrobium hybrids: mealybugs at pseudobulb bases, spider mites on leaves in dry heated rooms, and scale insects on canes. Its lush foliage can also attract thrips, which leave silvery streaks on petals and leaves.

Cottony clusters at pseudobulb bases and leaf sheaths; sticky honeydew and yellowing foliage follow. Swab with rubbing alcohol; apply insecticidal soap or neem oil drench to bark mix, repeating every two weeks.

Pale stippling on upper leaf surface; bronze sheen and webbing on undersides in severe cases. Raise humidity, mist regularly, and apply neem oil or miticide spray; quarantine affected plant from others.
