What's eating my chinkapin oak?

Chinkapin Oak is susceptible to oak wilt, spongy moth defoliation, and boring insects, especially on drought-stressed trees. Oak leaftiners and gall wasps are common but rarely serious. Deer browse young trees aggressively. The acorns, which are notably sweet and palatable, are heavily collected by squirrels, turkeys, and deer.
