What's eating my splendid anthurium?

Anthurium splendidum is a spectacular velvety-leaf aroid grown as a houseplant. Its large bullate leaves can trap spider mites and mealybugs in their deep surface texture. Like all velvet anthuriums, it dislikes low humidity, which simultaneously stresses the plant and creates ideal conditions for mite outbreaks — humidity control is your first defense.
