What's eating my anthurium andraeanum 'midori'?

Anthurium andraeanum 'Midori', with its distinctive green spathes, is susceptible to spider mites, mealybugs, scale, and thrips as a tropical houseplant. Spider mites are most common, especially in centrally heated rooms with low humidity. Regular leaf-wiping and humidity management prevent most outbreaks.

Pale stippling on leaves with fine webbing underneath; affected leaves turn yellow and drop. Boost humidity, shower the plant monthly, and treat with neem oil or insecticidal soap spray every 7 days.

Cottony white masses at leaf joints and spathe bases; honeydew promotes black sooty mold. Dab alcohol on colonies with a cotton swab; spray entire plant with neem oil and repeat every 5–7 days.

Silvery scarring and streaking on green spathes; new growth appears wrinkled or stunted. Prune affected parts, apply spinosad or neem oil spray, and use sticky traps to monitor numbers.
