What's eating my anthurium andraeanum 'fantasy love'?

Anthurium andraeanum 'Fantasy Love' is a bicolored-spathe tropical houseplant most threatened by spider mites and mealybugs indoors. The dual-toned spathe can mask early mite stippling, so use a magnifying glass when inspecting. High humidity, clean leaves, and prompt neem oil treatment are the best defense for this ornamental cultivar.

Stippled or bronzed patches on spathes and leaves; fine webbing on undersides; bicolored spathe may fade unevenly as cells are damaged. Maintain 55–65% humidity; rinse foliage with water; spray insecticidal soap or neem oil every 7 days for at least 3 cycles.

Cottony white colonies at leaf axils and spathe bases; honeydew and subsequent sooty mold disfigure the ornamental spathes. Apply isopropyl alcohol with a swab to each colony; spray the plant with neem oil; isolate and retreat weekly until clear.
