What's eating my alsobia 'san miguel'?

Alsobia 'San Miguel' is a hybrid trailing gesneriad grown indoors. Like its parent species, mealybugs are the primary pest, targeting the leaf axils and trailing stolons. Spider mites and aphids are secondary concerns. Routine inspection of stolon tips and prompt quarantine of affected runners prevents widespread infestations in this spreading cultivar.

White waxy masses at leaf bases and along stolons; sticky honeydew, sooty mold, and weakened stems. Dab each colony with 70% isopropyl alcohol; spray with neem oil every 7–10 days; remove heavily infested stolons.
