How to prune stardust dendrobium

After flowering; cane cleanup in spring when repotting. Cut the spent flower stalk to within 1 inch of its origin point on the cane using sterile shears. Remove only fully dead, shrivelled canes — healthy-looking canes should not be cut.

Annually after flowering; dead cane removal as needed. Dendrobium 'Stardust' is a hybrid Dendrobium that needs minimal pruning. After flowers fade and the flower stalk turns yellow or brown, cut it back to within about an inch of where it emerged from the cane. Remove dead or yellowing canes at the base, but leave healthy canes intact — they store energy and may re-bloom.
