How to prune philodendron moonshine

Any time — no seasonal restriction for dead-leaf removal. Grasp the petiole of an old or yellowed leaf and cut it cleanly close to the main stem with sterile scissors. Avoid pulling leaves off, which can wound the stem. Wipe blades with alcohol between plants.

As needed — light tidying a few times per year. Philodendron 'Moonshine' needs little pruning. It grows as an upright self-heading hybrid and does not vine. Simply remove yellowing or dead leaves at the base to keep the plant tidy and redirect energy. Occasional removal of older lower leaves as the plant matures is all that is normally required.
