As needed throughout summer; division every 3 years for this vigorous cultivar. 'Perry's Fire Opal' is a vigorous, large-flowered hardy water lily. Like all Nymphaea, it needs only routine removal of dying pads and spent blooms at the stem base throughout summer. Its vigour means baskets can become congested within 3 years; spring division keeps flowering strong and prevents pads from pushing up out of the water.
