Deadhead as blooms fade through summer; annual cut-back of dead growth. Momo Botan is a dwarf/container lotus ideal for pots and small ponds. Like all lotuses, it needs deadheading through summer and an annual cut-back of dead stems in autumn or early spring. Because it is compact, it rarely needs thinning. Never cut stems below the waterline — hollow stems flood easily and cause rhizome rot.
