How to prune naked crocus

Remove dead foliage in late spring or early summer once fully yellowed. Once leaves are entirely brown and papery, pull them away cleanly or cut at ground level. Avoid disturbing the corms when the ground is bare between autumn flowering and spring leaf emergence.

Rarely — once per season. Naked Crocus (Crocus nudiflorus) needs very little pruning. Like Crocus speciosus, its flowers emerge in autumn before the leaves appear in spring. Allow spring foliage to die back completely before removing — this replenishes the corm. Do not cut back green leaves at any point. No other pruning is beneficial or necessary.
