How to prune lace aloe

After flowering (typically late summer to autumn) for deadheading; any time for dead leaves. Cut spent flower spikes as close to the base as possible with clean scissors or a knife. Pull or cut fully dead leaves away at their base — never shorten living leaves mid-blade.

Annually after flowering, plus occasional dead-leaf removal as needed. Lace Aloe needs minimal pruning. Remove spent flower spikes at the base once blooming is finished, and cut away any leaves that are fully brown and desiccated. Do not trim green leaf tips — this disfigures the rosette permanently. The plant offsets freely; separating pups is propagation, not pruning.
