How to prune cooper's haworthia

Any time of year as needed; separate offsets in spring. Gently pull dry, papery outer leaves downward and away from the stem — they should come away cleanly. To remove offsets, unpot the plant and carefully separate rooted pups from the mother plant.

Rarely — remove dead leaves as they appear; separate offsets when convenient. Cooper's Haworthia rarely needs pruning. It grows slowly in a compact rosette and does not become leggy. Remove any dried, shrivelled outer leaves by gently pulling them away from the base. If the plant produces offsets (pups), you can detach and pot these separately, but this is propagation rather than pruning.
