Autumn after first frost; early spring before new growth. Cut the entire died-back clump to ground level with secateurs. Remove dead material cleanly to reduce slug habitat. Deadhead scapes by cutting at the base if desired.

Like all hostas, it is fully herbaceous — after the first autumn frost the foliage collapses and should be cut to the ground.
