How to prune geranium x oxonianum 'a.t. johnson'

Midsummer after first flush; late autumn or early spring. Shear to 5–10 cm after peak bloom. Water and apply a balanced fertiliser. Fresh foliage and a second flowering wave follow within weeks. Remove all remaining stems at ground level in autumn once frosts blacken the foliage.

Twice yearly. Geranium x oxonianum 'A.T. Johnson' bears silvery-pink flowers over a long season and rewards a midsummer Chelsea chop. Cut all stems back hard to 5–10 cm after the first flush to get vigorous regrowth and a second bloom. Clear dead top growth to ground level in late autumn or early spring.
