How to prune erythronium 'pagoda'

Deadhead in mid-spring after flowering; foliage dies back naturally by early summer. Snip off spent flower stems at the base. Leave all leaves to yellow and wither fully on their own before removing. Do not lift or divide corms unnecessarily.

Once per season; very low maintenance. Erythronium 'Pagoda' (dog's tooth violet) needs almost no pruning. Remove spent flower stalks after the nodding yellow blooms fade in mid-spring to tidy the planting and prevent excessive seed scatter. Allow all foliage to die back completely and naturally — this is critical for bulb health. Disturb the corms as little as possible.
