Deadhead mid-summer; full cutback in late winter to early spring. Remove spent flower stems back to a lateral bud or leaf to promote reblooming. In late winter, cut all remaining stems to 3–4 inches above the crown before new growth emerges.

Echinacea 'Magnus' can be deadheaded after the first flush to encourage more blooms, but leaving seedheads standing into winter feeds goldfinches and other birds.
