How to prune doña aurora

Late winter to early spring, during or just after the dry season. Cut all stems back to 30–60 cm (12–24 in) from the base, leaving a short framework of main branches. Annually; hard cut-back once per year. Mussaenda philippica 'Doña Aurora' is a vigorous tropical shrub grown for its large white bracts. Like all Mussaenda, it needs hard annual pruning in late winter or early dry season to prevent it becoming an ungainly thicket. Cutting back hard each year produces the vigorous new growth on which the showiest bracts are borne.
