How to prune dionaea muscipula 'dentate traps'

Flower stalks: early spring as soon as they emerge; dead traps: any time. Pinch or snip flower stalks near the base when they reach a few centimetres. Remove fully blackened leaves by pulling gently or cutting at the rhizome. Never cut into living, green trap tissue.

As needed throughout the growing season. Like all Venus flytraps, 'Dentate Traps' requires only the removal of dead or blackened traps and, optionally, flower stalks before they bloom. Flowering weakens the plant, so snip the stalk early unless you want seed. Leave all healthy green traps completely intact — they are the plant's food source.
