How to prune dawn viburnum

Immediately after flowering (late winter to early spring). Each year after bloom, cut one to three of the oldest, thickest stems down to ground level to encourage fresh flowering wood. Shorten any over-long shoots by up to one-third to a healthy outward-facing bud. Do not prune in autumn or winter — this removes flower buds.
