Immediately after flowers fade (late winter to early spring). Pinch off or snip individual spent flowers or whole scapes at the base if deadheading. Otherwise, leave plants completely alone until foliage turns yellow and withers, then tidy away.
How often does common snowdrop need pruning?
Annually, or leave entirely if naturalizing. Common Snowdrop needs almost no pruning. Deadhead if you want to prevent self-seeding, but many gardeners leave seed heads to encourage naturalization. The small leaves must be left to die back naturally after flowering — cutting them early starves the bulb and reduces next year's display.
