Deadhead immediately after flowering (late spring to early summer); cut to ground in autumn after frost blackens foliage. Snip off spent flower heads just below the bloom using clean, sharp secateurs. In autumn, cut all stems to 2–3 inches above ground and dispose of (do not compost) to reduce botrytis risk.
