How to prune bunch-flowered narcissus

Deadhead after last floret fades; clear foliage when fully yellowed. Cut the multi-flowered stem at its base once all blooms are spent. Leave all strap-shaped leaves to photosynthesize and feed the bulb until naturally withered.

Annually after flowering. Bunch-flowered Narcissus (tazetta group) needs only deadheading after blooms fade. Because each stem carries multiple flowers, remove the entire stem once all florets have dropped. Allow foliage to die back completely before tidying. In frost-free climates where bulbs are left in ground, the same rule applies — no foliage cutting while green.
