How to prune bouquet dill

For leaves: throughout the growing season, pinching flower stalks as they emerge. For seed: harvest umbels when seeds turn tan. Cut stems above a leaf node for ongoing foliage. To harvest seed heads, snip the whole umbel just before fully ripe and dry upside down in a paper bag.

Every 1–2 weeks for leaf harvest; once at seed stage. Bouquet dill is grown both for leaves and its large flower heads. For leaf production, snip outer stems above a node every week or two and pinch any flower stalks early. If growing for seed or cut flowers, let it bolt freely. Once dill flowers, leaf quality declines sharply — timing your pruning to your goal matters.
