As needed. Bottle Palm requires virtually no pruning. Only remove completely dead, brown fronds by cutting them cleanly at the base of the petiole. Never trim green or yellowing fronds prematurely — the palm reabsorbs nutrients from aging leaves. Cutting live fronds stresses the plant and cannot be undone since it has a single growing point.
