One or two light shears per season, as needed when plants get leggy. Bacopa (Sutera cordata) tends to become leggy and sparse without occasional trimming. It is largely self-cleaning but benefits from a light shear when stems grow too long or flowering slows. Cut back by one-third to one-half to encourage dense, fresh growth and a renewed flush of the tiny white or pink flowers.
