How to prune baby's tears

Any time; spring and summer growth is fastest for recovery. Use scissors to trim back trailing or overhanging stems to the pot edge. Cut away dead brown patches at soil level; healthy stems nearby will regrow to fill the gaps.

As needed, typically every few months if growing vigorously. Baby's Tears needs little formal pruning. It spreads quickly and may overflow its pot or become patchy. Trim back overhanging growth with scissors to keep it contained. If sections die back (from drought or cold), simply remove the brown patches — fresh growth fills in rapidly from surrounding stems.
