Annually. Miscanthus oligostachyus 'Purpurascens' is a smaller, early-colouring deciduous miscanthus that turns brilliant orange-red in autumn. Like all miscanthus, it needs an annual hard cut-back in late winter before new basal growth begins. Its compact size makes the job quick.
